Army Navy London Rook Rifle in 300 Rook. This high condition pre-1898 little rifle has many high quality features. Octagon 27" barrel with one standing sight marked "50" and two flip ups marked "100" and "150". Front blade sight with serrated. end to reduce glare. Mint bore with well defined rifling. Side lever opening with an automatic ejector system. Stock has a remarkable amount of figure for a rook rifle. Forend has a high polished horn tip. Well defined and lightly used checkering. Manual cocking system with high polished hammer. There is a generous amount of original case color in protected areas. Metal trigger guard and grip cap. Lightly and tastefully engraved. Gun is London Nitro Proofed with the specifics stamped on the underside of the barrel (Twist 1-18/4 Grains of Cordite/80 Grain Bullet). 300 Rook brass is available from multiple sources in the USA. The balance on this gun is remarkable - about 1" in front of the hinge pin. Weight of the gun is 5 LBS 8 1/2 OZ. The aesthetics of the stock are attractive with a full size LOP of 14 1/2".
