Description:
c1910 SAVAGE Model 1907 .32 ACP 10-Shot Pistol 7.65x17mm Browning Art Deco C&R

“TEN SHOTS QUICK!” Small Double Stack Single Action Sidearm!

Here we present a Savage Model 1907 Pocket Pistol, made circa 1910 in Utica, New York. This is a nice example of Savage’s top-selling semi-automatic pistol. It features the exposed hammer and an impressive 10-shot magazine. It is a very nice size for concealed carry and self-defense. Corners are nicely melted and the total weight with an empty magazine is only a little over 19 ounces. The hard rubber grips feature the trademark Indian Chief with “SAVAGE QUALITY” wrapping around.

These were advertised with “Ten shots quick!” by the likes of Buffalo Bill Cody, Bat Masterson, and the Pinkertons. Teddy Roosevelt was presented with one by Savage. In the early 20th Century, Savage was Colt’s primary competition for semi-automatics and this Model 1907 was a best seller, up against the Colt 1908. This one had a several round capacity advantage. The double stack magazine used in this gun preceded the Browning Hi Power by years. It was a pistol ahead of its time!

The overall condition is fine. Original finish. The action is excellent as well as the bore, which is bright with sharp rifling. The grips are solid with the famous Indian Chieftain trademark. A very nice example of a firearm from an exciting and much romanticized age with great Art Deco styling.
