SN: 1372790. Made in 1931 at Springfield Armory with a 24-inch barrel chambered for the .30-06 cartridge. The rifle is equipped with a November 1929 Springfield Armory ""star gauge"" barrel with an excellent bore that has strong visible rifling. There are gas relief holes on both sides of the receiver & the pistol grip type C stock has two recoil lugs. The trigger guard & magazine floorplate are of the stamped M1903A3 type & a front sight protector is present. Overall condition is good with practically no factory finish left on the metallic parts & the wood is in solid shape despite the many dings, dents & scratches that were produced during its military service.
