Here we have a very high grade boxlock ejector gun from a LONDON MAKER AND LONDON PROOFED during 1904 in superb condition.  Weighing in at a scant 6lbs. 6oz. and balanced nicely between the hands and just forward of the hinge pin even with its 30”, perfectly struck barrels, this is the epitome of a LONDON BEST boxlock ejector gun.  The gun remains in proof with its 2 ½” chambers, is tight on hinge and breech face, AND WE HAVE PLENTY OF 2 ½” RST AMMUNITION IN STOCK.  Those that follow side x side shotguns know Vintage Firearm, Inc. is deeply entrenched in the double gun world, and we get to see a LOT of very nice shotguns.  When we note this gun is not your “run of the mill” British boxlock, we know what we are talking about.  The 80% coverage English scroll engraving is phenomenal in its execution and demonstrative of turn-of-the-century BEST QUALITY LONDON GUNMAKER’S SKILLS.  When you examine the exterior of the barrels you can’t help to realize how most all the double guns we look at pale in comparison to the finish work of the early London barrel finishers…they are flawless and mirror smooth.  The finely figured wood is impregnated with the finest hand-rubbed oil finish, the checkering and drop points superbly hand-cut, the wood-to-metal fit impeccable, AND THE STOCK TERMINATES IN A CHECKERED BUT AND MEASURES A LONG 15 5/16” LENGTH OF PULL (and no add-on wood extensions we see too often).  Tall guys…this is your gun.  Just review the photos and you will see the superiority of this LONDON BEST when compared to other English BLE guns offered for sale.  And of course, when buying a fine shotgun from Vintage Firearms, you know we have thoroughly measured the gun in every aspect, providing you the information you MUST know to make an intelligent buying decision; just see the specifications below. The photos are clear and demonstrative so you can see what you are buying. This is a VFI CERTIFIED GUN, THE ACTION AND FOREND IRON HAVING BEEN STRIPPED TO THE SMALLEST PARTS, ULTRASONIC CLEANED, ALL PARTS SCRUBBED CLEAN AND INSPECTED FOR FUNCTION AND INTEGRITY, LUBRICATED PROPERLY, REASSEMBLED, AND SHIPPED WITH A 90-DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY.  The ejectors are strong and timed, the trigger pulls clean, the automatic safety is fully functional, all ready for decades more service.  It is true that London guns are the measure by which all others are judged, and when you handle and mount this Army Navy London gun you will know exactly what they are referring to...stunning!  What an elegant, long-barreled gun for pursuit of game or the elusive clay targets, and the price is truly a bargain when you look at the features and beauty of this 120-year-old shotgun.  Thanks for looking, and don’t hesitate or she’ll be in someone else’s gun cabinet.
