Description:
A Very Early, Rare, & Desirable U.S. Military Springfield Type II Model 1817 Flintlock Pistol In Fine Untouched Condition. All original and complete, and in original flintlock configuration. Only 600 of this type made. The pistol has fine metal and markings. Marked at the rear of the lock "Springfield/1818". In the center of the lock is marked with a "Spread Wing Eagle/U.S." The  top of the barrel is clearly "U.S. Springfield Proofed" and also dated 1818. All of the metal on the pistol has an even and natural light patina throughout it. All screws are fine. The pistol has fine wood throughout with nice edges. It has two clear U.S. Inspectors Carouches on the backside of the stock opposite the lock. The hickory ramrod is all original including the metal tip inside. The pistol has a fine and tight action. The bore is also fine. This Is An All Original And Rare Example Of A U.S. Military Sprigfield Type II Model 1817 Flintlock Pistol. These Early U.S. Military Springfield Model 1817 Flintlock Pistols Are Very Difficult To Find In This Fine Condition And Are Very Sought After By Early Military Collectors!
