Description:
This is a Pattern 1874 US Calvary Picket Pin with a 12" Spike and a leather case. The pin appears that it has spent some time exposed to the elements with heavy corrosion on the cruciform spike and body. The metal rings are still free and would functions as designed. I can find no markings on this pin due to the heavy weathering. The Leather case is in very good original condition with tight stitching and great hardware, buckles and rings. The leather itself is still pliable but getting to the toward the dryer side. Nice original set of Indian war Calvary history.
