I am selling this as a "600 action with original stock and free .222 Remington barrel" because I have never sold a gun that was not 100% as it should be. The action is a parkerized 600 action Serial number 40189 in excellent shape. It was originally a .308 according to the original owners who had it parkerized and twisted on a 24" (23.25" from action) Rem 700 .222 Rem barrel, which too is Parkerized. I was going to ream it out for a 223 or rebarrel, but got a sweet deal on a SAKO. So selling this rig and my Mauser in 257 Bob.
The rifle as is, worked fine for me as a single feed .222 Rem. It loves Vmax 40 grain will shoot one ragged hole groupings with handloads. I trun 72 this month and got rid of all my guns excet for one rimfire, the new Sako and a shotgun. All I need any more as I don't hunt like I use to.
The action is nice and tight and will make a great guide/mountain gun. 600 actions will accept "drop-in/twist on" 700 barrels. no rust or pitting due to Parkerizing. It is a great, light, handy guide/mountain gun. Twist on a 6.5, 308, 7/08 or 6.5PRC and Bob's your Uncle. Email or txt with any questions.
