Description:
Serial number 818 Barrel 3" Cal, .32 Rim Fire Mfg 1863-64. Manufactured by the Brooklyn Arms Co, using the Slocum patent of sliding breech / chamber as to avoid the Rollin White Patent. Using 32 Rim Fire with Silver plated brass frame with round barrel. Reciever lightly scroll engraved and mounted with 2 piece oil finished walnut grips. Unique sliding chambers allowed cartridges to be loaded from the side as opposed to the rear of the cylinder, thus avoiding the rear loading chamber patent held by Smith & Wesson at the time. Many of these were used in the Civil War and are pictured with Union soldiers. Condition, Very fine with over 60% silver plate finish remaining. Action operates properly. Grips are very good.
