Description:
This is an excellent plus condition Joseph Haywood & Co. 8 ½ folding bowie knife. This is 13” overall in length and folds to 9 3/8” overall length. It fits in the very good condition leather scabbard. 5 heavy pins on each side hold the very nicely checkered grips. The large oval button is pushed to release the blade from the closed position. This is a high quality and very well made large folding bowie knife that was made between 1864 and 1882. The condition is about 95% all original and unsharpened blade. They started in 1864 and continued through 1882.
