Description:
This is a Savage model 99 EG from 1951 that remains in high collector quality condition. The metal surfaces retain 99% of the original bright blue, as sent from the factory in Chicopee Falls Mass. The only blue loss is to the butt plate, where it picked up some moisture at some point in it's 73 odd years. (easily repaired by a competent gunsmith) The bore of the 24" barrel is absolutely mint, and she carries the original sight package. This rifle has never been drilled for a scope, or had sling lugs added. The lever has retained most of it's vivid case colors, and the lever boss code is 7C, and S/N is 5811XX (1951). This rifle has the brass shell counter. The stocks are free of any cracks or repairs. It has the nice walnut stocks, that are checkered on the schnabel forearm and pistol grip area ( a coupple of very small indentations in the checkering of the P/G are present, but are hardly worth mentioning). The oil finish is a little dry on the last few inches of the butt stock (may have had a slip over pad istalled at some point). All in all this is about as nice as it gets for a clasic 99.    $1400.00 Shipped and Insured through UPS from the FFL on my end, to the FFL or C&R on your end.  Ships to the lower 48 states only.  Payment by Certified Funds or PMO's.   Dan at (608) 751-7194.
