Handsome and not too often found in this deluxe 5 Diamonds checkering pattern. Date code is a little hard to read but appears to be a 1957 gun.
Stock finish is correct and original as is the factory alum butt plate and grip cap which on these deluxe guns have an image of a running deer. It was reblued sometime in the 67 years since it was made. There is no evidence of pitting so a prior owner may have just wanted it shined up ? Come with a Leupold/Redfield type scope base and factory sling swivels.
For a fee these may be rechambered to 35 Whalen and or shortened to carbine length (starting around $ 300.00)
Nice looking gun no meaningful bumps or bruises or other issues
Bore is brilliant and perfect.
Chambered in versitle 30 06 ( at one time in the not too distant past commercial ammo was avail from 55 gr to 250 ...and has been used on everything from wood chucks to elephant.
