Description:
An interesting item, this is a Herbert Parsley created plate and so marked on the reverse with H P located between the two hooks. This is an original REPRODUCTION, that is to say, probably first generation from an ORIGINAL Virginia Confederate belt plate that was used to create the mold but this is a guess due to the high quality of detail in the casting. Since an original of this would probably cost several thousand dollars, this one is available for a small fraction of that cost and is becoming a collectible in it;s own right.. Very well made with great attention to detail as in the form of the belt hooks, very similar to those found on original belt plates of the time..
