Description:
This is a Marlin 57, 22 lr caliber. No serial number. It has a Weaver 22 Tip-Off scope mount and Weaver C4 scope which is not very good by modern standards, but is useable and fits the time of the rifle. I bought it in an online - it showed a lot of photos, but none of the defects. There is wear and bluing loss on the barrel and magazine tube at the tube support and poorly touched up. I never tried to improve this area- it is easily visible. The black finish on the receiver was chipped in places. Since the receiver is allloy, I decided to remove what was left of the original finish and leave it with a satin aluminum look. The lever and trigger are plated (nickel ?). It was that way when I bought it. The stock was a little beat up so I refinished it-good but not great. There is some very light pitting near the end of the barrel and magazine tube. See the photos for all these things. I fired it eight rounds a few days ago and it worked perfectly. This one of the short stroke levermatics. It is a good working 22 with a not so pretty mag tube and barrel. Shipping will be $50.
