Description:
In great condition!. NO extra holes ever drilled to accomodate cheap scope mounts (how many of those have you ever seen if you know Mannlicher Schoenauer rifles?); no scope ever mounted. I've owned many years and a safe queen. I'm lightening the collection as is prudent given my age and my wife's zero knowledge of anything that goes bang. You'll find the price lower than it might be.  Why?  This is not a collector... Some many years ago, the owner changed the stock to a custom, well-checkered Fajen (at no small cost).  Why?  Beats me, as the rifle has not been fired much as the bore attests and no scope ever mounted. But it is a handsome shooter!!  I took it out today to my pal's range (30 Jan 2024, western Missouri...see pics below), grabbing a couple of my dad's 25 year old 30-06 reloads (I have his reloading data). I shot the hanging plate at 25 yards offhand and dead centered it.  I then sat down and shot at a hanging metal plate about 5" X 20" at 200 yards.  No small task, as the target was smaller than the front sight bead. One shot and knocked it sideways. I always use the set trigger and have with Mannlicher Schoenauers since I was a kid with my dad's 8X56MS that he liberated from a Nazi sniper in 1945. The set trigger on this one for sale breaks at about 3 oz...with the regular trigger at maybe 4-5 lbs.  Don't know Mannlicher Schoenauers?  Do some research...Chuck Hawks???  It's IMHO (and many others) the finest bolt action rifle ever made.  I've had many Weatherby Mark Vs.  They don't come close..

I'll take check or money order with time to allow check to clear.  I'll need an FFL copy that I must show the shipper.  Add $60 to ship. If you are a Missouri rez, pick it up at no charge.  I'm above the MO River across from Leavenworth,KS, just a bit north of Kansas City.

You will not find a better rifle in better shape for the $$.
