Description:
Made in 1863 during the Civil War.
All the serial numbers match including the wedge and cylinder arbor.
The action operates and indexes as it should.
The bore shows strong rifling with some roughness.
The gun appears to have had a chainfire which damaged the wedge.
The muzzle end of the barrel has been dressed down about 3/10ths of an inch.
Both the muzzle dressing and the wedge damage appear to have done during the period of use as the age patina matches the balance of the gun perfectly.
A good honest Civil War period example with great old age patina.
