1892 .44-40 SPECIAL ORDER ROUND BARREL, HALF-MAGAZINE RIFLE, #446XXX, MADE 1908. Receiver shows fine blue sides with only some minor thinning toward the front section and silvering on the receiver bottom with dulling on the bolt.. Fine barrel blue with some small areas of plum mixing lightly from age. Buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact and Winchester small blade front sight. Nice blue on the forrend cap. Fine+ wood with some slight shrinkage at the edges- possibly lightly gone over at some time but not sanded- minor. Bright, sharp excellent bore, tight action with secure safety half-cock. Receiver screws appear unturned and also fitted with a correct Marbles tang sight mounted in the correct factory holes (with NO extra holes hidden underneath- not a pleasant surprise!). In all a fine special order 1892 in a desirable caliber.
