Post civil war. Manufactured from 1867 to 1870. Nice octagonal barrel,.38 rimfire cartridge. Serial number is 19995. This is the 995th gun made because according to my research there were only 2300 made.The serial numbering only went from 18000 to 20300. It is a rimfire and may be able to be converted to center fire, again according to what I have researched. Please do your own research. I can provide more pictures if you are serious. the crack in the butt is the only flaw I can see. It is is great shape for a gun over 150 years old. As you can see from the picture, there is no rust in the bore, the rifling is excellent, There is no stiffness in the action and the gun should fire as designed. I have not fired it simply because I have not bought any cartridges. They are available.
The overall condition is very good. All serial numbers match,as original.
