Description:
This Russian State Factories 1895 Russian (Nagant M1895) is a seven-shot, gas-seal revolver designed and produced by Belgian industrialist Léon Nagant for the Russian Empire and imported by C.A.I (Century Arms Inc.) This Nagant M1895 was manufactured in 1945 and is chambered for a proprietary cartridge, 7.62×38mmR and features an unusual "gas-seal" system, in which the cylinder moves forward when the gun is cocked, to close the gap between the cylinder and the barrel, providing a boost to the muzzle velocity of the bullet and allowing the weapon to be suppressed (an unusual characteristic for a revolver). In fact, a 38mm long shell covers the whole bullet for this very purpose as well. This way, early Nagant users would avoid dealing with gases of black powder. This is a clean, all original revolver with some scratches, scrapes and marks from handling, use and age that is sure to be a unique piece fit for any collection. Ships with original holster. 7.62x38R
