Vintage Remington Model 26 BB Gun Air Rifle
This is a quite rare Remington .177 cal pump action air rifle that uses a unique geared cocking for its spring firing system. This is the only model Air Rifle Remington ever made and were only made between 1928 and 1930. They made approximately 28,000 of these rifles with less than a 10% survival rate projected. Remington made the Model 26 in both blue and painted black finishes. Less than 20% were believed to have been made with the painted black finish. Metal surfaces retain approximately 70%+ of original black painted finish with the remainder turning a brown patina. This piece has a gorgeous walnut stock and walnut fore-end with 10 grooves. The stock and fore-end rates very good to excellent with 98% finish and no cracks or gouges. The sights are elevation adjustable rear and post front. The gun feels good in the hand but the pump action seems strong. A great Remington collectable and a beautiful example of this rare air rifle.
