Offered for sale, original (not reproduction) Ames model 1860 light cavalry saber dated 1864 with scabbard in good to very good condition. Some high spot wear to leather grip, Missing leather patch near base of pommel. Grip wire is tight. Markings on ricasso as follows- "Ames Mfg. Co." / "Chicopee" / "MASS". On opposite face - "US" / "G.W.C." / "1864" (patially obscured by leather) Scabbard has two dents on one side and three very small dents on opposite side. Drag has some wear (flat) Scabbard has curtains from brown lacquer coating.
