Description:
This Winchester model 88 is chambered for the potent .358 caliber. Not only is it a rare .358, but built Pre 1964 with the cut checkering. With S/N 892XX it was manufactured in 1958, and remains in excellent original condition. The beautiful walnut stock is nearly free of imperfections, showing a few light handling marks, but no cracks or repairs. The original butt plate fits perfect, and is in great shape as well. All the metal surfaces carry the deep blue that it left the factory with. There is a very tiny ding on the top of the receiver (by the forward scope mount screw of the rear pair). The bore of the 22" barrel is in mint condition, and all the script, proof marks, amd S/N are crisp and clear. This rare .358 rifle is in high collector quality condition.
