Description:
Savage/Enfield No. 4 Mk 1 chambered in .303 British. This is a unique rifle of American manufacture destined for British service: the Savage Enfield No. 4 Mk1. The gun was produced by Stevens, a division of Savage arms, in Massachusetts to fill the British demand for fighting rifles. The Lend-Lease Act passed in 1941 allowed American industry to arm allies prior to the United States entering World War II. This rifle has "US Property" stamped on the receiver indicating its origin. It features a ten-round detachable box magazine and cock-on-closing design with rear locking lugs. The action can be operated with great speed and smoothness. .303 British
