Mauser Reichspatrone Jager rifle- Engineers Rifle 11mm Mauser manufactured by Oesterreichische Wafferfabrik Steyr. A rare variation of the standard 1871 infantry issue rifle. Dated 1875. Overall length: 48.7" barrel: 29.5" This rare early Mauser rifle was issued to special Engineer Batallions. Has the trigger guard finger rest and retains the original cleaning rod. Matching numbers. The chamber and bore are bright and shinny. Sharp crisp rifling. Original cartouche markings on the stock. Unit markings on the butt plate designating the Seventh Engineers Batallion rifle No. 57 A great addition to an early Mauser rifle collection. No FFL required: Antique Price reduction.
