Description:
A.H. Fox - Custom DE Special Grade, 20ga. 28" Krupp Steel Barrels Choked IC/M.
2 ¾" chambers, 20ga barrels engraved, Krupp steel, MR. HARRY OVERBAUGH BY A H. FOX GUN CO. PHILA, PA USA. 28” barrels. Choke improved cylinder and modified. This is an early fox and there is no record of the gun in fox record book, it is in their serial number range. It has breech engraving, automatic safety, and 80% coverage of Fox scroll on the receiver. It has the name Ansley H. Fox on each side. We believe someone has added a gold quail on each breech, the word safe in gold, geometric gold triangles on top lever, gold flowers on ejector escutcheon, and gold setters on the bottom of the frame with a gold line circle. It has the gold signature of H. Overbaugh on the trigger guard bow surrounded by Fox scroll. It has the serial number in gold on the tang. This is an early Fox gun with a friction forend features a straight grip stock with a skeleton butt plate that is the fox style. A very highly figured piece of Turkish walnut. DE style checkering, the barrels have the Krupp marks, it is marked D Special on the water table. The quality of this gun and the enhancement is of the finest workmanship. Double trigger, automatic ejector. Matte Rib, parts of this gun represent a high-grade gun. Custom work performed aftermarket most certainly. Almost all of the case color remains barrel blue and wood finish. The cost of custom work is far more than our asking price, just for the work, not the gun.
