Description:
"German Jaeger Percussion Rifle"

This example was made in the early-19th century in Germany. It utilizes a percussion firing mechanism, having been converted from flintlock. It has a 30 inch octagonal barrel with a large bore of what appears to be .58 caliber. The wood stock is checkered and features a sliding patch box. The stock has been patched in multiple places, and has a crack along the left side of the grip, just in front of the cheek rest, as well as a crack/small missing peice on the left side of the gun, opposite of the hammer. Barrel is marked with "C Moritz in Zella". Assumed to be produced in the mid-1800s.

The overall condition is decent. Strong action with a good bore. The stock is in decent shape, with patches as mentioned above, along with a few cracks and small gaps where the wood had broken and split over the years. Pictures of the stock's problem areas are included below. While there are issues, the firearm feels very solid and was well-patched when the work was done.
