Description:
Features a brass frame which is completely factory engraved in the scroll style. The 26 inch part round part octagon barrel chambered in 38 Long Rimfire caliber also features scroll style factory engraving. All metal has been refinished except for the frame. Most of the refinish is still in tact. Nice sharp corners on the barrel. Original straight grain walnut stock appears to have a repair at the wrist. Other than that it is in VG condition with a brass rifle style buttplate. Period sights. Fair bore with visible rifling that may clean up. Crack on the left side of the receiver which shows no weakness. Remington - Beals single shot sporting rifles are pretty scarce and were made in about 1866-1872. Less than 900 of them were made over 7 years. These were under-powered and not very popular. To find one in any condition is hard. A rare gun for any Remington collector.
