Description:
1941 Colt Officers Model Target chambered in 38 special with a 6 inch barrel and factory blue finish. Per the included Colt archive letter it was shipped to King Gun Sight Co. January 31, 1941. Any King conversion gun is rare but most that you will see were shipped to them after the original destination. You almost never see these with a direct shipment. This one has the works including a full King Super Target rib with a micrometer rear sight and a mirror bead front. It has a King cockeyed hammer as well as a short action job. The way these actions cycle combined with the light trigger break is simply incredible. Additionally King put a set of full-size target Ropers on this one. This is a collector grade gun. The original finish still retains all of its deep dark shine throughout. All of the leading edges are sharp and the backstrap is exceptional. Most of the handling which is very light is mostly isolated to the river. Overall the finish rates 98% +. The boar is bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves. The grips are exceptional with sharp checkers throughout.
