 A very limited production of 2000 pistol produced by Ames with Navy markings and using the Box Lock pattern lock. .54 Cal, smoothbore with percussion ignition. Oil finished walnut stock with brass mounts and swivel ram rod. Condition, Good overall with browned barrel dated 1845 and lock dated 1846 with USN marking at rear, Marked "N.P.Ames" Springfield Mass." Bore is dark and action operates properly. Minor wood material losses at butt  and crack on left side of stock. ANTIQUE
