Description:
1931 Colt Shooting Master chambered in 38 special with a 6 inch barrel and factory original high polish oven blue finish. This is a first year of production Shooting Master. These were the highest quality and most expensive Pre War double action revolvers that Colt made. Besides all of the hand tuned action work these also have a higher level of finish polishing. Per the included Colt archive letter it was shipped to Kansas City, Missouri July 31, 1931. Also included is the original factory green box numbered to the gun. We have had lots of Shooting Masters pass to the shop over the last 14 years. This is hands down the finest example we have ever had. The original finish still retains all of its deep dark shine throughout. As seen in the photos there is no real visible handling an overall the finish rates a very strong 99%+. The action is crisp, the lock up is tight, and the bore is bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves. The factory grips are in the same excellent condition as the gun itself with sharp checkers throughout. Upgrading this 95-year-old package will be next to impossible.
