Description:
We are offering for sale a Remington MODEL 540X TARGET bolt action rifle chambered in .22LR caliber. This is a good, fully functioning example with some cosmetic wear; This was a High School rifle that was used when in a school when it was normal to teach gun safety. WONDERFUL TARGET RIFLE!
26" barrel is good with bright bore showing crisp rifling; Front target hooded globe sight. The underside of the barrel has "Nashoba Reg. H.S. Bolton, MA" scratched in. This is a comsmetic flaw and does not affect the guns functionality. The receiver is good as well with "#5" etched into both the receiver and the bolt handle. The receiver has been fitted with a Redfield rear peep sight. Gun functions flawlessly. The original stock is very good without breaks or cracks; Rear peep sight notch has been slightly lengthened to accomodate sight. Adjustable buttplate; 13" LOP when closed against stock.
