Description:
Offeered for sale is a Colt Single Action Revolver, Model 1873 in 32-2- Caliber (32 Colt).  The gun is serial number 164041 (1897) and is marked as such on the Lower Frame, Trigger Guard Strap and the Butt Plate.  The barrel is merked 45 Colt on the left side.  The top of the barrel is marked "COLTS  PT. F. A. MFG Co  Hartford CT. USA.  The two line patent dates and the Colt insigna are on the left side of the frame below the cylinder.  The gun is in good mechanical condition and retains the 1st, 3rd and 4th click when cocked.  The bore is dark, but retains strong rifling with no pitting.  The resin grips are free of cracks, chips or splits.
The gun retains some distint case hardened finish on the frame and aproximately 15 - 20 % of the original blue finish to the barrel and ejector rod housing. The cylinder shows some denting to the profile and an overal gray patina to the rest of the surface.  The grips are in very good condition with no chips, splits or cracks.
The gun would make a nice addition to any Colt collection or a very good "Cowboy Shooting" gun.
