Description:
Cased Colt Model 1849 Pocket Model ( Mfg 1853) with 2 line New York barrel address on 4" barrel (Serial number 69064). 5 shot non-fluted cylinder with Wm Ormsby's Stagecoach cylinder scene. Cylinder retains al 5 safety pins. blue finished barrel and cylinder with case colored frame with Colt's Patent marking on left side. One piece varnished walnut grip with silver washed back strap and trigger guard. A small "HT" has been period scribed onto butt. Revolver is cased in factory velvet lined partitioned case with flask and period straight leg brass dual cavity mold marked "COLT'S PATENT" on top. Condition, fine with over 15% blue finish remaining on barrel with all cylinder scene remaining. Shadows of case color remain on frame and grips retain most all varnish. The silver wash on back strap and trigger guard is very strong with thinning only at edges and front strap. All numbers are matching with wedge being period re-numbered and possibly factory done. . Case is distressed with loose partitions and soiled lining. A small section of wood is missing from side of lid, Flask is an older silver washed contemporary replacement. Mold is good with some period denting. Cap tin is original with distressed label. 2 early excavated coat buttons are included with cased set as well as period balls. Bottom of case is loose. ANTIQUE
