Original French 1866 Chassepot also known as Fusil modele 1866. The Chassepot was the famous bolt action rifle, for having been the arm of the French forces during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. This one does not appear to have been converted. The Full wood stock is in very good condition with the circle cartouche dated 1869. All metal parts are brown with pittiing. The action works well and the bore is very good. The rifle is complete with sling swivels and original bayonet available for $75.00. The rifle is $395.00without bayonet and 470.00 with bayonet. Please feel free to to contact me with any questions.
