Description:
Springfield Armory Model 1884 "Trapdoor" single-shot rifle chambered in .45-70 Government. Adopted by the US Army as a successor to the Models 1873, 1875, and 1880 rifles. The biggest improvement was the addition of the "Buffington Sight". The serial number (469000) suggests that the gun was manufactured in 1889. Comes with what appears to be a period correct Model 1887 rifle sling and no other accessories. .45-70 Government
