Here we have a delightful, affordable upland gun from AyA, one of Spains premier gunmakers well known the world over for making solid, well finished guns. From the AyA : The N° 3 has been AYA’s standard boxlock design since 1960. It is modelled on a Westley Richards boxlock action, brought to Spain by the King brothers. The Anson & Deeley action, the most famous of all boxlock designs, was created by two employees of Westley Richards in 1875, and ever since, Westley Richards guns have defined boxlock elegance. This AyA, sn311608 built in 1968, is a fine upland gun indeed! Weighing a scant 5lbs. 6oz. and balanced perfectly 1/8” ahead of the hinge pin, you can carry this gun all day with little fatigue. The 20ga. chambering is known to be deadly on pheasants, grouse, quail, dove, woodcock and all upland game. The condition is 98% factory with just the faintest of wear on the edges of the action. The 26" barrels are tight on the breech face, have mirror bores, tight ribs,99% blue, and are choked a most useful IC/M with 2 ¾” chambers. The receiver retains 98% bone and charcoal case color and is in perfect mechanical condition with crisp double triggers, auto safety, and excellent screws. At Vintage Firearms, Inc. (VFI) we inspect each gun before purchase, our 3 gunsmiths clean and service each gun as needed. For this AyA, we stripped the action to the smallest parts, Ultrasonic cleaned and scrubbed all parts to shiny metal, inspected all for integrity and function, lubricated and reassembled, providing a VFI CERTIFIED GUN, a $275 service in our shop. VFI CERTIFIED GUNS have a 90-day mechanical warranty providing confidence you are buying a fine shotgun that will provide years of service in the field. NONE of the other sellers provide this service. These are known to be highly reliable guns, and this one is light as a feather and perfectly balanced. Vintage Firearms removed the old worn out pad and replaced it with a eye pleasing Purdey Style leather covered pad for the best of mounting and staying stuck after the mount. This is a $675 service in our shop. We have already provided all necessary maintenance and improvements to this gun, a value of $950, so she is ready to go. The AyA is known as a supremely reliable gun, and priced affordably for a hand-engraved, hand-checkered gun. A perfect gun for the upcoming upland and clays season. Don’t miss this one!
