Description:
The Model 1895S was introduced in 1981. When Marlin added the cross bolt safety to all models in 1984, an additional "S" was added to the model designation. Therefore, the 1895S became the 1895SS subtract the first two digits of the serial number from 100 to determine year of manufacture. Hope the explaination above tells you how the "SS" does not "Stainless Steel"...this rifle is nearly perfect easliy a 95-98% condition although it has been fired but not much. The bore and bolt area is "New Looking" round count would be very low in opinon metal and wood nearly perfect.
