Description:
This chrome Young Maufacturing National Match bolt carrier and (not chrome) bolt came out of a Gen 1 Noveske N4 I recently purchased. It is a high quality build with a Gen 1 lower receiver serial number that dates to 2011-2013. It was assembled in that time frame or shortly after, and the other Noveske parts are consistent with that. The previous owner said it was assembled, test fired 10 rounds, cleaned and put in the safe. So as near as I can tell, the BCG is from about that time frame. This was before Young Manufacturing was bought out. The quality on the BCG's was still excellent, especially the National Match carriers. The very small amount of carbon and wear I found on the BCG is consistent with what the previous owner said about test fire only. It looks like normal wear from the action being cycled by hand occaisionally. The extractor spring and o ring are consistent with what I have read that YM put in their bolts. It is a standard bolt cam pin design, all the way through. The gas key has been staked as you can see, and appears to have been done right. Everything else I can functionally inspect appears good. The gas key is straight and slides pefectly straight and smooth onto the gas tube. O ring tension test is good. Bolt headspaced correctly. Firing pin protrusion looks good, firing pin tip is good. Extractor spins freely on the extractor retaining pin. Ejector has good tension, I didn't take it out. AS IS.
