German WW II early black wound badge L24 marked LDO RARE! This is unique in having a small circle with the makers code L24 in center in raised letters. Very few were made like this; L24 was the LDO assigned number for Ordenfabrik Fritz Zimmermann, Silberburgstrasse 58a, Stuttgart W.
The LDO was created in 1941 to control the quality and production of German Orders and Medals. The L24 code was soon changed to the wartime code of FZS, so not many of these exist. The catch loop is missing from this, easily replaced.
