Description:
This Colt Commercial Government Model 1911-A1 was manufactured in 1928. It is in used condition with perhaps 80 percent of the original finish. Blue wear is typical holster wear on the slide and frame edges, and the front strap blue is worn from use. There is a light takedown scratch, and there is no pitting. The original checkered walnut grips are in good shape with some flattening, particularly on the lower edge of the left grip. The bore is excellent; the only mark on the barrel is a "K" sans serif faintly stamped on the lower side just ahead of the link. The magazine is the two-tone type.
This is a nice representative example of an early pre-war 1911-A1 that has been used but not abused.
