US Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor 45-70 caliher army rifle with NJ (state of New Jersey) stamped on the left side of the receiver. This is a rifle not a carbine and I can't edit it. The full length dark walnut stock is in good condition with numerous dents , dings and wear and a rack or unit number (11). The serial number is difficult to make out but maybe 53,55?. The full length barrel has both front and rear sights. The functioning lock is marked US Springfield with the American eagle. The functioning breach block is marked Model 1873 with the eagle head. All metal parts have most of there original blue turning brown. The antique rifle is complete with sling swivels and original cleaning rod. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
