After a joint effort and the deveopment of the .45 Acp cartridge Colt introduced the first commercially available pistol in 1906. this pistol was requested by Gen Crozier of the US Army for trials use. This example has been artfully restored and made to replicate the Colt Factory Cutaway pistols . This example originally Mfg, in 1908 by Colt is minty overall in appearance as professionally restored in cut-a-way configuration.
