Description: An absolute gem of a gun, this fine high quality Charles Boswell single shot stalkng rifle exhibits gorgeous best quality workmanship. The gun has a 28" matted rib octagon barrel with 6 flip up rear sights (200-700 yards) and small fixed blade ramp front sight. Rotary fastened horn capped checkered forend with very nicely scroll engraved opener. The dimunitive boxlock receiver is beautifully game scene engraved with scroll coverage in about 90%. The fence is carved as seen in the photos. Top lever with original high polish blue and top tang with gold inald "SAFE" ahead of the safety slide. The steel casehardened capped pistol cap compliments the beautifully figured English walnut buttstock with beaded cheekpiece on left side. The toe line with vacant gold oval, sling eye. Butt with 1-1/4" well matched wood extension and terminates with an aging silver's type pad. Two piece game scene engraved trigger guard. Gun remains in beautiful overall condition. Barrel with about 95% beautiful factory blue and crisp engraving. Frame with about 60% original case colors remaining. Stocks are excellent and sound- forend appears totally original, but with finish added for preservation. Bore is brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are perfect.  This is really the "top of the line" Boswell and a really beautiful rare little gun. It is the only example I can recall with this level of fit and finish!
