Offered for sale is a nice original finish WW2 Colt M1911A1. A true survivor with original barrel and matching numbered slide. Magazine is a early full blued pinned base. Colt 45 Auto marked barrel is properly struck with the P proof and has an S in front of the lug. This is known as a commerical/transfer barrel as Colts used up all existing stocks of parts to get guns out the door. Unlike many of these, this one has nothing wrong with it. No abuse. No pitting. Just honest wear. The wear you see on this pistol is from extensive carry in a US M1916 holster. These holsters put very distinct wear on a 1911 and this one tells me that this 1911 was not a desk jockeys pistol. It likely went to war and came back with a veteran. The numbered slide Colts are some of the most desirable varations that collectors want.
