This is marked as a Westley Richards Patent on the action and it has a  trigger blocking safety lever on the right side. The action is tight and smooth with no signs of heavy wear. It will make a nice shooter. Cases are easily made by shortening the .450-3 1/4 Nitro cases by 1". This would be a great hunting round as it is the same size and capacity as a .45-90.  All of the metal is darker grey with very light roughness but no pitting or damage. The barrel is 25" and has a silver blade front sight and a ladder rear with a single leaf missing.  The wood is all original with the checkering in excellent shape.  It does show handlig marks and some rubs from a scabbard or carry wear.  Steel buttplate.  Engraved on the left side of the action is: "Westley Richards Patent 170 New Bond St. London". The barrel is engraved with "Henry's Patent Rifling".  This is a great old antique from one of the finest gun makers and will make a good shooter. It will be a nice addition to your collection.
