SALE PENDING MIKE L VT 3/6/24 Typo...not pre 250    Somewhat unique and not very often found esp in this desirable cal (250 Savage or 250-3000 which was the lst commercially avail round to have velocities of 3000 fps. The R is means heavy; the barrel and stock are similar to but heavier than the F or FW (featherweight). This is the later version made from approx 1950 to when it was discontinued in 1960. it is a handsome gun and except for having removed the sling swivels and one compression mark on the left side of the butt stock (might steam out) it is truely in the same condition as when it left the old Savage Factory in Utica NY a few hours from our location.
For collectors we actually have a pair. the 2d gun not listed is distinguised by two grooves near the end of the forend and is now listed here ...see seller sother items
This gun could only be nicer if it were new in box and is in incredible conditon for a rifle made nearly 65 yrs ago. (ask about our other 99's)
R's were made betwen 1932 and 1960. the Barrel date code is a little hard to read but suggests 1953 however the engine turned bolt suggest 1957-1960
24" barrle with original sights.
Still has nice case color on the interal parts of lever that are not exposed to sunlight 
These were factory drilled and tapped for scope and comes with a Redfield / Leupold type on piece mount. (We have many fine used scopes ..inquire)
