SN: 1855, made in 1855, .69 caliber, 26"" round barrel. Barrel and other iron parts are a dull grey patina with light areas of pin prick surface oxidation noted, mostly by the bolster and nipple. Barrel is stamped with ""V/P/EAGLE"" tang is stamped ""1855"" Lock plate is marked ""Eagle/U.S."" rear of hammer has ""Spring/Field/1854"" Stock shows light handling and usage marks, a small crack is noted at the rear of the lock plate, faint cartouche is present. The barrel does have the double steel guides for bayonet and front barrel band has attached lug. Action holds at half and full cock. Consignment
