MEXICAN WAR H. ASTON U.S. MODEL 1842 PERCUSSION CAVALRY PISTOL DATED 1846. Desirable Mexican War dated pistol all original and complete except forward lock screw and old replacement. .54 caliber smoothbore 8 ½” barrel with Ordnance Inspector’s stamp and proof at breech. Lock dated “1846” behind hammer and stamped “U.S./H.ASTON” forward of the hammer. Shows battle wear and light salt and pepper overall but is in working order. Worn floral hand carved panel with illegible worn inscription on stock forward of trigger guard. Fair bore. Reasonably priced.
