Description:
1903 late model Springfield action. Great start on a custom build. I bought this from one of our counties great metalsmiths, Dave Talley. Dave had to get rid of a few projects and I considered myself lucky to buy this classic from Dave. Dave had square bridged the rear bridge ( not an easy chore ) but left it blank on top. I assume he was planning on making a scope base for the front and then machining in dovetails for his Talley scope rings that are known world wide. When you weld on these rear bridges they tend to squeeze in making the bolt very tight. This bolt is in great condition and Dave did a superb job refitting the bolt for a very snug but smooth fit.
Nice classic bolt handle installed ,just needs a bit of repolishing. A stripped bottom metal and complete shroud/ firing pin unit also comes with this reciever and bolt.. my price for just performing bridge and handle work would be in excess of $1500.
