NSN, made in 1863, .58 caliber, 40"" round rifled barrel. Barrel is a smooth dull grey patina with heavy surface oxidation visible at the breech. Lock plate is marked ""Savage R.F.A. Co. / Middletown. Ct. Rear of the lock is dated ""1863"". Stock has expected nicks and dings from handling and usage wear. A crack and wood loss is visible at the barrel tang. Action holds at half and full cock. Consignment
