Description:
Early antique Folk Art Cane.  IRISH FOLK ART.  A wonderful example in original antique condition. The head is that of a  LEPRECHAUN.  This rare stick measures 35” long, and weighs less than 1/2 pound. The face is 2” tall by 1 1/2” cheek to cheek. Such items are much sought after by Civil War collectors as a symbols of the Irish brigade.  This very sturdy cane has 35 hard thorn bumps along the shaft. The shaft is very solid with no breaks or cracks. It has a brass metal tip to keep the wood from wearing. The top of the cane is a carved mans head with glass eyes, and flat top hat. The old patina on the cane is great and you can tell it was loved a for many years. It as one chip out of the nose, but is not in anyway weakened.
